Breeding

The basics

1. You need a male and a female of the same species, both tamed.
2. Enable mating (most dinos mate when they are close and fed).
3. After mating, the female is pregnant (the baby is born directly) or lays an egg that must be kept warm (incubator or stable temperature).
4. The baby grows in stages: baby, juvenile, adolescent, adult.

After giving birth, a female must wait for a cooldown before she can mate again.

Imprinting

While it is a baby, a dino asks for attention (cuddles, food, walks). The more you answer its requests, the higher its imprint becomes, which increases its bonuses when you ride it. On Mesozoic, the /imprint command imprints the baby you are looking at.

Server commands

Free for everyone:

• /claimbabies: claims the babies in your area.
• /imprint: imprints the baby you are looking at.
• /givebirth: makes your pregnant dino give birth.

With tokens (1 per use, see Passes and dino commands):

• /cg: changes the gender of the dino you are looking at. Handy when you only have females.
• /resetmating: resets a female's mating timer.
• /wake: wakes a sleeping dino.
• /feed: feeds the dinos near you.
• /finishclone: finishes a cloning in progress.

Structures that help

The Cybers Structures mod adds breeding structures, for example a nanny that takes care of nearby babies and a hatchery that hatches eggs. They have a limited range in foundations.
