Earning Mesocoins
Mesocoins are the cluster's currency: copper, silver (100 copper) and gold (10,000 copper) coins in your inventory. They cannot be bought on the shop: you earn them by playing. Type /coins in game to see what you earned this hour and what is waiting for you.
What pays

| Loot | Some creatures, crates and bosses drop coins. |
| Genesis | Missions pay in Mesocoins: the hexagon reward is converted automatically. |
Coins land in your inventory in batches, about every 20 seconds. If your inventory is full, they wait.
What doesn't pay
- Killing a tamed creature: yours, your tribe's, or from a cryo terminal. Zero coins, and it counts for no quest.
- The chainsaw: it harvests a huge amount per hit, so its gains are divided by 10. Other tools are normal.
- Explorer notes, bosses (apart from loot) and "generic" XP give nothing.
Hourly caps
So that nobody runs away with it, the coins earned from harvesting, crafting and hunting are capped per hour. Quests and loot do not count towards the cap.

The multiplier applies to your gains, the cap is counted afterwards. Passes are sold on the shop.
In a tribe
When you earn coins, they are shared equally with your tribe members who are online, alive and in range (the same range as the game's XP sharing). A tribe creature harvesting or killing without a rider also pays the nearby members. Everyone keeps their own multiplier and cap.
Where to spend them
- The in-game shop (press F2, Sell tab): a gold coin is worth 1,000 points.
- The Mesozoic Market, coming soon: buy and sell between players, directly in coins.
- The Genesis vendors: they count in Mesocoins (1 hexagon shown = 1 copper).
Don't mix them up: shop points (votes, purchases) and Mesocoins (earned by playing) are two different things.
